Walnut & maple chest of drawers

One-of-a-kind four-drawer chest in solid black walnut and figured maple, built entirely by hand in the shop.
The case is solid walnut — deep, warm, straight-grained. The four drawer fronts are figured maple, chosen so the curl catches the light and shifts as you move past it. No two boards like them, and nothing here is veneer over particleboard — it’s solid wood throughout.
The drawers are hand-fit, and the pulls are custom-made walnut with contrasting maple ends, turned one at a time rather than ordered from a catalog. The chest rests on sculpted, splayed feet that lift it off the floor and keep the lines light.
This isn’t a production piece. It’s built the slow way, with hand-cut joinery, to be lived with for a lifetime and handed down. Commissions open.
