Think about what that table will hold. Birthday cakes. Homework. Late-night talks. The empty chair after someone’s gone, and the new high chair pulled up years later. A table isn’t just furniture. It’s where life happens.

I spent twelve years building homes before I opened my own shop. Somewhere along the way I realized what I loved most wasn’t the building. It was the idea that people would live their lives inside what I made.

Now I build furniture one piece at a time. I walk through the lumber and choose every board by hand. I cut each joint myself, slowly, the way it’s been done for hundreds of years. And while I work, I think about the family who’ll sit there someday. The meals, the arguments, the laughter, the kids growing up around it.

It takes longer. It costs more. I won’t pretend otherwise. But we rush through almost everything now, and I think we’ve lost something in that. Choosing something slowly, on purpose, from someone whose name you know, is a quiet way of saying your life deserves more than disposable.
